Every Wrong Right

Every Wrong Right Outlaws: Book Two Written by: M.C. Frank Every Wrong Right continues the Outlaws saga in a meaningful and powerful way. With deadly secrets, intriguing suspense, and heart-wrenching, conflicting decisions, the story of Robin Hood continues. I couldn't wait to turn the pages (metaphorically with the way the digital version has gone) and it placed me in the minds of the characters. Each one has powerful back stories that make their problems more real. This story is well-written with depth and heart-wrenching romance. The mix between suspense and romantic inclinations creates a moving story line. I can't wait to read the next in this series.

Beauty and the Clockwork Beast

Image
Beauty and the Clockwork Beast A Steampunk Proper Romance Written by: Nancy Campbell Allen This Beauty and the Beast retelling is a unique take on the original story. With all the basic elements of the fairy-tale, this story adds a bit of steampunk technology and fantastical elements that enhance the story and make it little more real. Lucy Pickett comes to Blackwell Manor to tend to her cousin and finds more than she bargained for. With ghosts, werewolves, and vampires involved, she is a bit wary. Lord Miles on the other hand seems to be hiding secrets and has a brusque personality. Will these two find the lasting bond that can come from beauty and the beast? This story creates a world of what if... What if electricity was never created? What if vampires, werewolves, and ghosts lived among the regular population on a natural basis? While the what-ifs spark the imagination, the realness of the characters make it a fairy tale in believable proportions. While I may not want ...

Ace

Ace A fighter pilot romance Written by: Sophia Summers This fighter pilot romance was an adventure from the beginning to the end. With two characters with strong personalities who have very different ideas about reaching the same goal mixed with the beauty of the islands of the Pacific and the craziness of war. This story was a great one from start to finish. While the adventure was strong, I would have enjoyed a little more romance. Sophia Summers does a great job of introducing characters with intense feelings, a beautiful world, and a realistic conflict. Each character has a different perspective and Sophia manages to make both perspectives valid and logical yet contradicting. For an adventure with a wide of romance this was a fun one to read.

Everything I Do

Everything I Do Outlaws: Book 1 Written by: M.C. Frank Everything I Do was a book I did not want to put down. Written in the world of Robin Hood with Maid Marian playing a new and intriguing part, I wanted to find out how everything ended. Starting with an archer whose skills exceed the infamous Robin Hood and a new addition to the band of merry men, this story runs the gamut from heartache, heroism, fear, and satisfaction. Seeing as this is book one of the outlaw series it left me wanting more. The characters are real with heartbreaking issues- depression, anxiety, hopelessness while still trying to move forward to help the people who are struggling around them. Each individual has the horrors of war written upon their pasts in unique ways. While M.C. Frank has written these characters and the story in a realistic way, it is still a beautiful story that I enjoyed reading.

Bloom

Image
Bloom Elementals of India: Book 1 Written by: Sudha Kuruganti Bloom creates a unique world in the Indian culture. It illustrates the beauties that come from living in that area of the world along with the diversity in perspectives, language, and way of life. Sudha Kuruganti takes this world and adds the elements of fantasy to make this story a unique take on reincarnation and finding true love. Samantha is a young woman who comes to India to visit her grandmother before starting college. Vikram is the son of a flower shop owner who is looking to prove himself. Both have their own unique struggles in life. Can they work together to fulfill a 200 year old prophecy? This story is intriguing and uses fantasy and culture differences to create a plot line that draws the reader and tells of Indian folklore.

8 Attributes of Great Achievers Volume 2

Image
8 Attributes of Great Achievers Volume 2 Written by: Cameron C. Taylor This self-improvement book does a great job taking the stories of great achievers and sharing them in such a way that leads the reader to their own conclusions about how to become such an achiever. With hard work, good networking skills, and treating their fellow man with respect and admiration- these traits become obtainable. The stories shared in this audio book provide hope for a better future without negating the effort it takes. Cameron C. Taylor advocates for working smart instead of working hard by cultivating these traits that enable regular men and women to become something greater than they are. While this book is not much more than stories- each story has been carefully chosen to illustrate the chosen point in an easy to understand and enjoyable way.

Hood

Image
Hood An Outlaws Novella Written by: M.C. Frank With an exciting twist to the traditional Robin Hood fairy-tale, M.C. Frank starts off the story with  some melodramatic humor, "So what you’re saying is,” Alis hissed behind them, “that you’re used to being about to die.” “More or less,” Will Scarlet replied, rare laughter in his voice. “The excitement is gone.” before the tone is changed to one of resolve and heroism as the ragtag team of outlaws goes to rob the rich and feed the poor. This story takes the tale of Robin Hood and provides depth and meaning for the history of the small group of Robin Hood's Merry Men. With Robin who fights the good fight in ways beyond money, a group of friends whose bonds go deeper than blood, and a community whose hearts are battered by the corrupt royals who lord over them this story takes all of the elements of the original and provides meaning in a novella- quite an impressive feat.

Perfect Match

Image
Perfect Match Gulf Coast Firefighters Written by: Susan Oloier This sweet romance was a pleasant read. With two characters who are looking for something more satisfying in life and struggling to find it, they relate to most of the population. As neighbors who find attraction despite everything about the situation being wrong, they push past their insecurities and eventually find their way to love. Susan Oloier created realistic characters with faults and struggles. Both of them have great personalities and the flaws enhance the story. The world they live in is comfortable and real. This story could be any of the hallmark stories just without a Christmas setting.

Image

With a job for a publishing company, an apartment of her own, and a place within her church, predictability is her life until her sister shows up with a bundle that changes things for good. Between drug use, death, and adoption, Jillian Parrish is dealing with a lot and Krista Jensen tastefully writes this story in a way that shows a way to move past struggles with grace and hope- a little bit of chocolate doesn't hurt either. The characters in this story have real flaws but they are able to move past them, commu...
