Addy's Prince Charming

Image
Addy's Prince Charming Love in Little River: Book 6 Written by Ranee S. Clark Addy's Prince Charming was a cute read. As a woman who struggles with feeling her own worth, I related really well to Addy. She is such a great character that doesn't know how amazing she actually is. I didn't relate as well to Tristan since most of what we know of him is that he is a prince that is down-to-earth. The first page was a little hard to get into but because I knew the characters from the previous stories set in Little River- I was excited to keep reading and see how Addy received her own happily ever after. I also loved seeing all the different characters from previous books in the series return.  Purchase on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09HMPZW7R?notRedirectToSDP=1&ref_=dbs_mng_calw_5&storeType=ebooks

Christmas in Kailua

Image
Christmas in Kailua Written by: Jess Mastorakos This sweet romance gives Tess her happily ever after after a rocky start to motherhood. With an ex in the background and a fresh start in Hawaii- Tyler is unsure about whether he wants to join a pre-made family. These two have quite the baggage to overcome but as their relationship grows, it made me smile to see them finding true love. Once again Jess Mastorakos continues her world of marines with great characters from one story to the next. They blend almost seamlessly as each ones show up in the next with the same personality as in the previous book. Set on the beautiful islands of Hawaii- I wouldn't mind hopping into this world. Autumn by the Sea

Image
Autumn by the Sea A Muir Harbor Novel Written by: Melissa Tagg Autumn by the Sea by Melissa Tagg left me wanting more. As Sydney and Neil come together in an unusual way. Sydney wanting to fill in the pieces from her past and Neil fighting to hold onto the land he loves- they start to fall in love. The mystery of the history of the Muir family adds the intrigue and all of the questions that are asked left me ready to read the second story in the series. Melissa Tagg goes into depth with their feelings and experiences that enriches the whole reading experience. She introduces the other characters' romances in a way that makes me excited for the rest of the series without overwhelming the main characters.  The rest of this series is on my to-be-read list as soon as they come out and I can't wait to see what comes next.  Purchase on Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B098KKHYVB/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0

Gage and Skyler quickly discover a shared desire for normalcy, and their easy friendship soon develops into something more. From Festival Kiss to Wedded Bliss

From Festival Kiss to Wedded Bliss The Harvest Ranch Romance Series Written by: Lucy McConnell This sweet romance was such a fun read. A misunderstood bad boy from the past coming back to his home town for a fresh start and a sweet leather-worker find themselves in an unexpected and awkward situation. This uncomfortable beginnings leads to a series of encounters at the famous town festival that takes the romance from awkward to swoony. These characters are unexpected, especially from their background. Kayla has a witty side to her that made me smile and Dean is not the bad boy that his past makes him out to be. As they fall in love, I found myself rooting for them to get over their misunderstandings and all that was standing in their way.  While their romance and relationship ended up finding its happily ever after, I wished I could have seen Dean renew his relationships with his estranged family. He had such conflict inside himself regarding them that I wanted to know more. Maybe Lu

A Blind Date for the Marine

Image
A Blind Date for the Marine Written by: Jess Mastorakos This story takes online dating to a whole new level. With the algorithms from an in-person dating service mixed with the best of the IT world and a few best friends mixed in you get a love story that makes this fit in the romantic comedy genre perfectly. It is all about pushing outside of your comfort zones and embracing the possibility of amazing things.  This sweet romance made me smile and cringe as the main characters started chatting. While they chatted through the app, they had no idea their best friends were engaged and they knew each other in real life. These quirky characters shared things about themselves they hadn't shared with anyone before. Their relationship developed so well as throughout the story and the dark period before the happily ever after matched the whole tone of the story.

Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough

Image
Meet Me Under the Kissing Bought A Christmas Romance Collection Written by: Josi S. Kilpack, Anneka R. Walker, and Sarah L. McConkie This collection of Christmas romances was a romantic read. All three stories followed the same theme of Christmas love. They do all happen within a short time frame and the love is quick to come. The authors wove in the Christmas traditions of the time in a way that was made me want to join in the fun.  Each of these stories is unique. Sarah McConkie wrote a great feminine retelling of Dickin's A Christmas Carol. While being a classics retelling, it wasn't obvious at first. The miserly Miss Caroline had a beautiful upbringing until her mother passed away. The following years are what broke her. Her character development is so vast for such a short story. Miss Caroline's change for good was the best part of the happily ever after.

You, Me and the Stars

Image
You, Me, and the Stars Bethel Private School Series: Book 1 Written by: Michelle Dykman This high school romance was another enemies to lovers romance. Willow and Christian are on opposites sides of the high school social structure. They have nothing in common until they are forced into a partnership for a project. Michelle Dykman created a transformation romance as Willow finds a new way to be. I do wish that Christian had a little more character development- especially compared to Willow. She has a lot of depth while he stays pretty much the same throughout the story. There is forgiveness introduced throughout. The whole story was a little shallow for my tastes but for those in high school- this may be the right fit.  *trigger warning- sexual assault that was prevent

The Halloween Mismatch

Image
The Halloween Mismatch The Harvest Ranch Romance Series: Book 16 Written by: Amberlee Day This book is perfect to get you in the Halloween Spirit. From fall festival to the spooky side of haunted houses, this book has everything that is great about the holiday. Amberlee Day integrates the season with an enemies to lovers romance. Daisy and Theo are on opposites sides as they attempt to create a first time spooky walk for the town's fall festival. Both have their own idea on how to make it a great one and the sparks fly as they butt heads. As the romance starts to grow, these two start to get along.  I loved how Amberlee Day caused conflict here without making it go to deep. Their relationship rift is realistic in how they struggle to find common ground followed by a misunderstanding. Then as Theo and Daisy's feelings start to grow, she describes it all so well. It takes me back to falling in love again with my spouse and all of the good things that go along with that.

Brides and Brothers

Image
Brides and Brothers Written by: Anneka R. Walker If you have ever watched the old film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers or seen the play of the same story you will love this story! A modern retelling of the classic built into the small town of Cherish, Montana tells the story of a woman who fears she will never find someone to truly love. Anneka Walker does a fantastic job of pulling the story into modern times without messing with the details that make the original so beloved. I loved how the characters fit the roles of all the different brothers and eventual wives. Anneka Walker even managed to pull in the sobbing women story from the bible without making this an over the top Christian story.  The cover of this story fits perfectly in line with the fun light-hearted story this is. I couldn't put it down and loved everything about it.

To Marry an Earl

Image
To Marry an Earl Written by: Karen Thornell This sweet regency romance was such a roller coaster ride. From the beginning where Kate's father is talked down by her father, to an unwitting proposal, and a blast from the past. Karen Thornell illustrates the emotional turmoil that Kate goes through as the story progresses. There was definitely some suspense added in as a force threatened to tear apart the romance that was just starting to flourish which  made for a perfect read.  I love how authors like Karen Thornell are able to make each of their stories such fantastic stories without having to add anything that would make me uncomfortable reading or listening to around my children. From beginning to end, the story and characters speak for themselves.
