How Not to Fall for Your Ex

Image
How to Not Fall for Your Ex Written by: Meg Easton Meg Easton does it again with this final installment of the How to Not Fall series. I loved reading about Timini and her adventures in life and love. The encore of previous characters coming in added to the comedy from the first three. My favorite line had to be "Drop him like a wad of cash at Costco." This story had me smiling over and over again from start to end.  I am sad to see the series end. The setting of the inn made for an ideal place for these four roommates to come together and fall in love.  Meg Easton set this story to be a great jumping point for other characters to have their own stories or for this to be a great conclusion for the series. I look forward to seeing the next once from Meg Easton.

Love in the Details

Love in the Details Britney M. Mills Love in the Details is such a sweet Christmas love story. As Kassidy McBride is starting over once again to figure out what she wants to do with her life- Dustin Wakefield walks into town once again. Sparks start once again with these two who, instead of a cute-meet, they have quite the opposite. Disasters abound once again. From beginning to end, I wanted to see how these two would overcome their rough start.  The characters were fun to read about and I loved the new Christmas tradition ideas. From competitive sledding to graham cracker gingerbread houses, my family will have a new tradition this year. If only we had snow in Arizona.

Snowed in at the Ranch

Snowed in at the Ranch Snowed in for Christmas Clean Romance Series Book 3 Written by: Holly Stevenson Snowed in at the Ranch was such a fun read! With such a romantic setting and sparks at first glance, let alone first touch this story kept my heart swooning from the very beginning. Levi and Rachel were great characters that I fell in love with. A cowboy through and through meets old-soul Rachel. A perfect match. While most of the story happens in just over a week, the romance did not feel too rushed. After the little conflict, the making up was perfect!  I loved this story. It was a perfect read with a cup of hot chocolate in one hand, a fire going, and a cool winter evening.

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride with the Cowboy A Huckleberry Falls Christmas Written by: Jen Peters Sleigh Ride with the Cowboy is a fun, Christmas story. With two high school sweethearts who left town to make their own path returning at the same time, there is romance in the air. This was a great read. Worthy of Hallmark status, the characters have great story arcs within this sweet romance story. They have their dreams within reach and opportunities are opening up to them as work on coming together for the second time.  Jen Peters gave this story a Western feel with the small-town of Huckleberry Falls. I enjoyed reading this story and while the Christmas season is not quite here, it is definitely helping me to prep for the most wonderful time of the year.

Captured by her Boss the Cowboy

Image
Captured by her Boss the Cowboy Open Skies Billionaire Club Book 4 Written by: Audree Snow Captured by her Boss the Cowboy takes a city girl western lover and a relaxation ranch and puts them together for the best parts of history. As Charlotte and Andy fight off the hesitancy to their relationship, they quickly fall in love. Audree Snow wrote a fast-paced romance. She drew the readers in with attraction and compatibility just in time to push the characters apart with life long dreams. While she introduced tension with separation, there was no doubt the two would come to their senses and return to each other.  The story did lack a little depth but for a short story in a small western town, it was an enjoyable read.

The Christmas Letters

Image
The Christmas Letters 'tis the season for a Christmas romance Written by: Brenna Jacobs Any book by Brenna Jacobs is always such a joy to read. This one took the magical world from Magnolia Bay and added in a little of the flirty from her ABC's of love series for the perfect Christmas romance. With a little of You've Got Mail going on mixed with a little of Pride and Prejudice this was a sweet romance. The characters have a redemptive arc from previous books and it was sooo good to see them get their own world-tilting, once in a life time love.  Brenna Jacobs knows how to write great characters. They always have real struggles and fears while feeling like they would be an awesome person to have as a best friend. This book was the perfect Hallmark-esque Christmas movie in a book without too much cheese.

Resisting Dylan

Image
Resisting Dylan Cowboy Inspired Romance Written by: Sophia Summers Resisting Dylan was such a fun read! The Christian elements woven throughout made for an uplifting romance story that I thoroughly enjoyed. Dylan and Kate were such  a perfect match and I loved reading their process of coming to their senses about love and their situation.  I would have to say I loved this even more the initial installment of Coming Home to Maverick. These characters felt more real and relatable. The western elements of rodeo and the ranch had this fitting in the cowboy genre perfectly while adding in a little New York City bustle and hustle. This was a great read!

The Gentleman and the Thief

Image
The Gentleman and the Thief Written by: Sarah M. Eden The Gentleman and the Thief showcases Sarah Eden's masterful writing skills. With unique dialects, an immersive world, and well-written characters, this story is a great sequel to The Lady and the Highwayman. From the beginning, Hollis Darby and Ana Newport have romantic inclinations but their differences in situations create barriers that they have to circumvent as suspense, adventure, and danger threaten the world they hold dear. Sarah Eden's books are always a favorite of mine and this one is no different. I loved  how it went from the pure romance genre to adding adventure and mystery. These additions made this book page-turning (in a digital way). The skillful writing of dialogue and character perspectives added to the genre to make this one of Eden's best works. I loved reading this advanced reader's copy and can't wait for it to come out in November to share with friends and family.

Mary and Martha

Image
Mary and Martha  Written by: H.B. Moore Mary and Martha H.B. Moore skillfully enhanced the biblical story of Mary and Martha. She gave life to these characters while maintaining the scriptural integrity of the story. There was depth and meaning added to the story. Mary and Martha served as both a read for pleasure while increasing my understanding of Christ in the scriptures. There were fictional elements added but the pieces from the scriptures were there. They were woven together and made for a really great read.

Love and Fireworks

Love and Fireworks A New Year's Even Romance Anthology Written by: Megan Mayfair, Jayne Kingsley, Stella Quinn, Anna Foxkirk, Marianne Bayliss This anthology is a fun collection of New Year's Eve stories. With everything from billionaires to broke imposter singers and holiday heroes, this grouping of stories hits all walks of life. The commonality of the cruise ship made this a fun way to get excited about the holidays.  Some of the stories did start to push the limits of clean romance. However, the writing in the rest of the stories stories were fantastic. Those pieces of these anthology were such fun reads and worth the experience of reading this book.
