The Holly and the Ivy

Image
The Holly and the Ivy A Christmas Romance Collection Written by: Sarah M. Eden, Anneka Walker, Dana LeCheminant, and Ester Hatch If you have ever wanted insights into the childhood of the Adam, the infamous Duke of Kielder- this story is perfect! With the appearances of his pseudo-parents, Lucas and Julia Jonquil this book has so many of my favorites characters inside. The depth that I see from Adam and the insights into his childhood are almost heart-breaking but also full of hope as I discovered where many of his philosophies as a duke come from. This is all without discussing the actual main characters of the story- his nursemaid and the gardener who are both very sweet. I had such fun reading this part of the anthology and learning more about the characters that we have seen so little of in Sarah Eden's books.  All of the stories in this collection are fantastic! I enjoyed reading every single one of them- each of them as unique as the authors that write them. They will ...

Sinister Secrets

Image
Sinister Secrets Three Suspense Novellas Written by: Traci Hunter Abramson, Clair M. Poulson, and Paige Edwards While these three authors are so unique in writing style- they are all fantastic storytellers. Each story is different but all have suspense that starts right from the beginning and drew me in. From Traci Abramson's with a teenage girl running for her life to Paige Edwards's where there is FBI and DEA all involved. Each of these authors make it possible for you to jump into the story and see a little snapshot into the lives of these characters. The intrigue, adventure, and love-familial or romantic-makes this set of stories sing.

Retold

Retold: A Regency Fairytale Retellings Collection Written by: M.C. Frank About the stories: Unwanted.  Three boys grew up in an orphanage, abandoned and despised by those who should have taken care of them. They were starved, hit, and abandoned for years. But they are men now. Gentlemen, so to speak. A little broken, a little damaged and a little destroyed by life, but they hide it behind toughness, money, amazingly folded cravats and, in some cases, illegal activities. Their main strength is each other: they are best friends, partners in crime, a found family. And then comes the one battle that every gentleman, no matter how brooding, haughty or handsome, must face alone. These are the stories of how they each fight, and lose, the battle against love. Hooked:  About: Wendy and Lord Darlington  When Wendy Hooke was a little girl, she saved a boy from starvation. The boy, Peter, taught her how to fly. Now the boy is a man, a gorgeous man, and he has forgotten all ab...

A Hopeful Christmas

Image
A Hopeful Christmas A Regency Romance Collection Written by: Anneka R. Walker, Sian Ann Bessey, Carla Kelly, Krista Lynne Jensen These four authors came together and wrote romantic Christmas stories where hope is seems lost. Each story shows the true Christmas spirit in a regency world. Four different perspectives with different stories. I loved the reading about the couples who found each other in time for Christmas along  with the couple who thought everything had been taken away from them but angels came to rescue.  Walker, Bessey, Kelly, and Jensen write about strong women who find their way to happiness within the confines of the societal expectations of their time. Each story has sweet and meaningful themes. They are well-written and are the perfect length.
