Snowed in at the Archive

Image
Snowed in At the Archive Snowed in for Christmas Clean Romance Series: Book 4 Written by Ellie Thornton Snowed in At the Archive was a great action book combined with some adventure. ATF agent Alec and lawyer Mila combined forces to create some great sparks and take down the people who wanted to destroy Mila's town. While most of the romance happened before this book ever began, the reconciliation and overcoming of differences made the plotline sweet while the action of criminals amped up the excitement level.  This whole series has some great stories written by authors who were able to tie in the snowed in theme in unique ways that worked. While I read them out of order, that didn't matter as each story had its own characters, setting, and plot. They make me want to be snowed in with my honey for Christmas somewhere.

Snowed in at Silver Lake

Snowed in at Silver Lake Snowed In for Christmas Clean Romance Series: Book 5 Written by: Stephanie Fowers Snowed in At Silver Lake is a surprise story in this series. With a framed murderer on the loose and a stranded heroine who keeps falling in the Silver Lake- this story has suspense and more intensity than the rest of the series but is still a unique and romantic story. As the characters are snowed in at a cabin in the middle of the wilderness near Yellowstone, they have little choice but to interact with each other and slowly fall in love. Their interactions have their perfect blend of irate and frustration mixed with sparks and slow growing feelings.  Despite the unexpected intensity and perhaps a little because of it, this story was a great read. There is some of everything that even my husband could enjoy the action.

Billionaire Cowboy's Secret Baby

Image
Billionaire Cowboy's Secret Baby Creek Ranch Book 1 Written by: Audree Snow This short story is a great lead up to a series that seems different than I have read from Audree Snow. There is suspense, troublesome pasts, and as the title says- a secret baby. So much is packed into this story and it ends without giving too much away from the rest of the series. It definitely has me intrigued for what comes next.

Sleep Robin Hood

Image
Sleep Robin Hood Outlaws: Book Three Written by: M.C. Frank Sleep Robin Hood is a fantastic continuation of the Outlaws series. With action, adventure, romance, suspense, and everything in-between this story hooked me. I can't wait for the next year to pass so I can read the next installation in this retelling. The characters have such passion and feelings that go between hope, despair, and betrayal. I don't want to say too much for fear of giving something away but this series is a well-written depiction of the tale of Robin Hood.

Snowed in at the Cottage

Snowed in At The Cottage Snowed in for Christmas Clean Romance Series: Book 2 Written by: Catelyn Meadows Snowed in At The Cottage was an awesome Christmas story. With warmth from beginning to end- a moody hero with a tragic back story and a energetic and imaginative heroine who comes to the ranch with one purpose while leaving with a change in purpose and drive.  Catelyn Meadows is a great addition to the Snowed in for Christmas Clean Romance series. Her way of writing built such a romantic world that would be a dream to live in. With a picturesque snowy scene followed by a magical story of Santa Claus, it brings back the child-like feelings of hope , innocence and excitement for all things Christmas with all the great romantic feelings that come from a happenstance meeting with a quirky musical box.

Round Up

Image
Round Up Lost Creek Rodeo: Book 1 Written by: Rebecca Connolly, Sophia Summers, and Heather B. Moore These three authors have done it again with a great kick off to a new rodeo series. With cameos from Grizz and Clint from their other two series, it was so fun to see a little bit of their happily ever afters. Ryan Prosper and Talia James are both heart-broken in their own way. As an injured rodeo star who has to find a new life and a woman who lost her whole meaning for living, these two come together to heal and find a little more.  The characters have just the right amount of heartbreak while their true personalities shine through. The Broken Hearts Ranch is aptly name for those who arrive but as those who leave, it becomes what they were instead of defining their future.  I don't know how these three authors work together to write a story that flows so well, but they manage to do it and make it a fun, meaningful story at the same time.  Trigger Warning: Child loss

Georgana's Secret

Image
Georgana's Secret Written by: Arlem Hawks Georgana's Secret is a great story of intrigue, hidden identities, and love. As Georgana and Dominic become unlikely friends aboard her father's ship, they forge a bond that turns to love when Dominic comes to find Georgana is female. This story shows how the war against Napoleon Bonaporte affected all, not just those in the military.  This story showed the beauty of the sea mixed with the hardship of war and all that can go wrong in-between. The characters are strong and courageous in the face of all that happens to them. This Proper Romance was a read that I didn't want to put down.

Her Pretend Cowboy

Image
Her Pretend Cowboy A Prairie Valley Romance Written by: Ellen Joy It must be something about this time of year- but several books I have been reading have been romance after loss/divorce and this was another one. Ellen Joy did a fantastic job with this trope. The characters are both in a low point and their romance is fast but they have their struggles in marriage and are able to work through it. This story shows some of the hard work of marriage and the power of working through hard things together.  This whole Prairie Valley Romance series takes serious topics and characters who are going through times. They find their love in the midst of finding healing and hope for the future. Annie and Luke are another example of this, both of whom figure out their priorities and adjust their outlook on life. This was a great story to pair with the new year and the reflections that come with it.

Kiss Me, Baby, One More Time

Image
Kiss Me, Baby, One More Time A Maple Creek Romantic Comedy: Book 2 Written by: Cindy Ray Hale This story was such a cute and fun read. I loved reading about characters that are opposites with some similar interests as opposed to the characters that are just a perfect match. Taylor and Onyx work so well together despite their different lifestyles- one of clean eating and naturopathic ways versus a medical surgeon who is a picky eater and loves junk food. Throwing in a bet and a fake relationship that turns to real just makes it all the better. Kiss Me, Baby, One More Time kept me smiling from the first impromptu kiss to the two working their way past the main conflict.  Cindy Ray Hale created a great story that has me wanting to go back and read the first one. This wholesome book is a relaxing and enjoyable chick flick.

The Accidental Text

Image
The Accidental Text Written by: Becky Monson Oh my heart-warming story- I loved this book. From beginning to end it hooked me and I couldn't wait to find out how it ended. Did Maggie Cooper go for the guy who is right there in the office who likes her back or for the hot guy who she ends up texting through "the accidental text." As the adventure goes and both Maggie and Chase are grieving the loss of their mothers, Becky Monson writes a fun, comedic story while still managing to show the characters' grief and heartache.  The romance is great and I felt my heart go pitter-patter as the characters become best friends and beyond. The texting is real and cute and overall this story definitely made its way onto my favorites list.

His Accidental Bride

Image
His Accidental Bride Written by: Carolyn Twede Frank His Accidental Bride This sweet story hooked me from the beginning with Dorothy Bednar's tragic backstory. She wasn't just a poor me woman though, she was a strong woman with a determination to become better than her circumstances. On her path to find her better life, she falls in love. Ronald Smith has gone looking for love and he thinks he has found it in the mail order bride he orders but someone better is around the corner. This story had me enthralled for the first half. I was eager to see how the hidden past would come up and the truth would surface. Once it hit the middle, it slowed down a little but the finale made up for it.  This romance was a little deeper as the characters have some real struggles to get through. The fluff of a light-hearted romance is still there with some meat underneath. His Accidental Bride was great story for a little deeper read.

Snowed in at the Castle

Image
Snowed In at the Castle Snowed In for Christmas: Book 1 Written by: Lucy McConnell Snowed In at the Castle is a fun start to the Snowed In for Christmas Clean Romance Series. With a beautiful and enchanting country to start with followed by a romantic castle that a snowed in bunch of travelers are privileged to stay inside. The characters are such goodhearted people who are trying to find their way in life. They come together in a chance meeting and fall in love in that once in a lifetime type of way. From the anguish of love that may never be to  happily ever after, this was one story I definitely enjoyed.
