Bright as the Dawn

Image
Bright as the Dawn A Bright Harbor novel Written by: Holly Stevenson This new novel continues the story of the women of Bright Harbor. With a back and forth perspective between Ivy and Abbie it took me a little bit to get into it and remember the characters from the first in the novel so definitely go back and read that one if you haven't already. This book has some in-depth character growth and development. Both Abbie and Ivy have things to discover about themselves and what they want in life.

The Contract

The Contract Brides of Beaufort: Book 5 Written by: Jess Mastorakos If you love the movies My Big Fat Greek Wedding or The Proposal- this is a story for you! The best of both of these movies is put into this one book with a big Greek family and a marriage of convenience turned real. Both of these characters have similarities in their back stories but the way they are affected and the way their families interact was so very different. Zoe and Chase are such passionate characters and I loved reading about their chemistry. Their progression from a friendship relationship to a romantic relationship felt real and authentic. I really enjoyed that.

Eloise and the Grump Next Door

Eloise and the Grump Next Door Oakley Island Romcoms Book 1 Written by: Emma St. Clair and Jenny Proctor If you aren't one for age gaps then this book is not for you. If it is something that you don't mind- then the quirky comedy inside will leave you smiling and swooning as these two characters find their way to loving each other. I love the idea of a conniving grandmother leaving a will that pushes some life changes on a character. As Lo comes back to the island she has such great transformation. This story is seamless. Despite being written by two authors- I would not be able to tell who wrote which part unless someone were to sit down and tell me. This was definitely a fun read.

Home on the Harbor

Home on the Harbor Cliffside Point: Book 4 Written by: Ellen Joy The fourth book in this series has all of the characters come back with big appearances. While this may hold Harper's love story, it also holds the love story of the whole family (blood and chosen)- the love story of how these characters found each other and rely on each other. While the romance is sweet, the greater meaning comes from how these women are light to each other and can rely on each other. Reading about their struggles and will to survive makes me want to reach out to those around me so they know I have their backs and love them.  Overall- I wish I could have seen more of Harper's love story. There is so much to her back story and understanding who she is as a person that I felt a little gypped on seeing her happily ever after. To seeing the characters fall in love after they came around to enjoying each other's company. Maybe we will see more of that in the next book!

Battling Ben

Battling Ben Love in Little River: Book 7 Written by: Ranee S. Clark The magic of Little River hit again in this story with enemies to lovers and hidden identities. Ranee Clark managed to incorporate several tropes into this story in a fun and engaging way. It was so fun reading about how these characters were each other's unexpected romantic interests. This story was so good at having conflict with the characters actually talking to each other and dealing with things in a mature manner. That along with reading about characters from the previous books made it just a sweet romantic read.
