Promises at Pyramid Rock

Image
Promises at Pyramid Rock Sweet Military Romance Book 2 Written by: Jess Mastorakos This sweet military romance was a fun read. Jess Mastorakos is skilled at integrating some military life without it being overwhelming. This friends to lovers story was made even better as the two overcame their hang-ups from their parents issues to figure out what was staring them in the face the whole time. The anticipation and sparks were flying- the jealousy was there in the background which made this one a great evening read.

The Seat Filler

Image
The Seat Filler Written by: Sariah Wilson This story was a cute celebrity romance with a normal down-to-earth girl. The characters have such sweet personalities and their meet-cute was adorable. With a little misinformation to start and some intentional friend-zoning turned to getting over phobias to full-on romance. I enjoyed reading this story from beginning to end. The characters had so much in common and Noah Douglas is such a real and nice heartthrob movie throb.  The writing was well-done and engaging. The story-line progressed quickly and this story made me smile. With great kissing scenes and heartwarming not-dates the whole book was such a fun read.

Love Unexpected

Image
Love Unexpected Written by: Jenny Proctor This was such a cute story. Rosie is an awkward, anxiety- ridden graphic designer who fell in love with her boss from afar. Isaac is in a world of his own as a social media influencer- all about doing random acts that the world loves to see. The awkward moments and the great conversation that Rosie and Isaac have via online chatting is what makes this story such a fun read. I love reading about the growth of Rosie as well as Isaac's discovery of finding balance with the publicity.  Jenny Proctor is a great writer as she adds in variety to her characters- the different kinds of families fit well and add to the beauty of the story. The comedy is natural and in no way forced. This really is such a cute, fun story to read.

Her Cowboy's Fake Proposal Book 4

Image
Her Cowboy's Fake Proposal  Red River's Hope- Book 4 Written by: Audree Snow The honeymoon is over and it didn't last very long as a surprise visitor comes to town and the neighbor drops off his kids with an emergency- these two pretend lovebirds are doing their best to be what they said they are. This bite size piece of the story continues the fun and surprise romance.

Her Last Chance Cowboy

Image
Her Last Chance Cowboy A Prairie Valley Romance Written by: Ellen Joy This was a great conclusion to the Prairie Valley Romance series. It takes us back to the beginning with Hannah who was a big part of the first book in the series and goes 12 years later as she learns to stand up for herself, move beyond her past, and finds happiness. These characters go through some rough things, from before the story starts all the way through when it ends. Hannah has a lot to deal with. I do feel like Hannah didn't have an opportunity to fully grieve al that she experiences and that she and Jake will have lots to work through to make sure their relationship lasts.  It was fun seeing old characters brought back and the continuation of their families. There is quite the time period between the first book in this series and this one which means a lot has happened in Prairie Valley.  Trigger warning: domestic violence

Campfires and Kisses

Image
Campfire and Kisses The Harvest Ranches Romance Series Written by: M.K. Dymock Campfire and Kisses is a fun, sweet romance as two enemies find out their preconceptions of each other are all wrong. Rielle is trying to be the best camp director she can be while overcoming her past and Sutton wants nothing to do with his half of the inheritance- or anything that comes from his father. These two are both prejudice and think of themselves in the best possible light while looking at the other in the worst. Dymock has created such animosity that as they work together to make the camp worth investment it is fun to see the characters feelings slowly change and become more than what it was.  Little by little, this romance creates a love story. While there is definitely some dunderheadedness from Sutton and some jerks thrown in the mix that want to ruin everything they had worked towards. It makes it for quite the conflict it in the end.

Beehives and Broken Heroes

Image
Beehives and Broken Heroes Spring Flings and Engagement Rings Written by: Ellie Thornton This sweet romance was such a heartwarming read. Both characters have broken hearts and this story tells of them healing and finding themselves again. Not only that, but it has some great romance and kissing scenes without being too over the top. Ellie Thornton does a great job of adding some action/suspense to the story without detracting from the romance of it all as these two lovers come to find each other.  Brandon is such a good guy who hops in and helps everyone around him. Allie is a firecracker full of sweetness like the honey she sells from her bees. This story had me smiling from the antics of the two of them and laughing at their teasing. I really enjoyed this read.

River's Song

Image
River's Song Spring Flings and Engagement Rings Written by: Stephanie Fowers River's Songs takes two broken-hearted characters and shows their hearts healing and coming together. River and Liv both have skeletons in their closets and a lot to overcome. They come to find their faith in Christ holds them up and helps them through it all. Stephanie Fowers is able to address drug-use, addiction, and recovery without it overpowering the romance and sweet story.  This story definitely has a bad guy- a nightmare of an ex-husband but the good guys overcome and it is a sweet ending with hope for better things to come.

Her Cowboy's Fake Proposal Book 3

Image
Her Cowboy's Fake Proposal Red River's Hope- Book 3 Written by: Audree Snow The story continues with a beautiful wedding day and more complications at the building permits office. While Grace and Colton solve one problem, another one hops to fill its place. I just started getting hope for the two of them as a couple but the sexist lowlife at the building permits keeps throwing obstacles in their way. Once again, I am looking forward to what happens next in this series as their hearts open little by little.

Loving Decker

Image
Loving Decker  Sweet Cowboy Romance Book 3 Written by: Sophia Summers Loving Decker is probably my favorite out of Sophia Summer's Sweet Cowboy Romances. Faith and Decker are life long friends who come to realize there is something more to their relationship when things start to fall apart and go crazy around them. Faith has so much happening in her life but she maintains her steadfastness in her relationship with her faith. This story shows their real emotion. It was up and down and all round as Decker was dumb and then figured things out. Faith continued on trying to do the right thing. The characters were more real and I related to them more. The small town fits right with their personalities and the story flowed right along with that.

The Delivery of Decor

Image
The Delivery of Decor Christmas at Shiloh Ridge Ranch Written by: Liz Isaacson The Shiloh Ridge Ranch Series is more than just a series of books about a bunch of cowboy romances- it is a journal of the whole family. Each book is interwoven, told from all of the Grover brothers's perspectives. It is hard to know where one story ends and another begins. These books all address different difficulties the family goes through while maintaining their hope and optimism- their faith in Christ.  This series by Liz Isaacson is such a fun read. All of them Christmas stories that talk about hope and finding something better within their situation. Isaacson manages to do this without being overwhelming with religion or too preachy. The story is enjoyable and a sweet romance with the regular misunderstandings and mishaps that make it a good love story.

Her Cowboy's Fake Proposal Book 2

Image
Her Cowboy's Fake Proposal Red River's Hope Book 2 Written by: Audree Snow This second installment in the Red River's Hope series continues the excitement- will she get her contractor's license? Will he heal from the tragedies that affected his life? So far, the story continues to have me intrigued at what happens next. It is definitely a sweet romance- in one of my favorite tropes.

The Crown of Rosemund

Image
The Crown of Rosemund Written by: Michele Ashman Bell This story is different for Michele Ashman Bell's typical stories. With a deep dive into historical, the whole story makes me longing to know how Rosemund will survive the hostile takeover of her home and crown. There is some deep grief and loss in this story that leads to strong personal growth for the princess. There is a lot that happens over the course of not much time. Michele Ashman Bell does well at creating character development. While the relationships could use some more depth and more of the progression illustrated, overall this was a successful foray into a new genre.
