Barrels and Hearts: A Prequel

This short sweet was a great way to start the Barrels and Hearts series. Told as a memory being passed from mother to daughter it reminded me of times when my family reminisced. Ana and Eduardo pass through mountains of challenges as they find their happily ever after. With family, strong prejudices, and poverty all set in their path- their love grows stronger than they could have dreamed and Eduardo finds his true paradise.

While this story lacks characterization and visualization, it does bring a sense of family and connection to the past. Edith Mackenzie makes this prequel fit the bill of a short novella setting up for something greater to come. It makes me look forward to reading the rest of the Barrels and Hearts series.

Traci Hunter Abramson set up such a great premise to this story with all of the Saint Squad novels leading up to this one. With Sienna and Craig's wedding along with all of the political hoopla going on, this story does not rest. Traci writes such great suspense! I was left wondering throughout the story whether they they were going to get their happily ever after! There was romance, suspense, and the amazing Saint Squad. Any story with the Saint Squad is full of laughter and adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end.

Sleep Robin Hood Outlaws: Book Three Written by: M.C. Frank Sleep Robin Hood is a fantastic continuation of the Outlaws series. With action, adventure, romance, suspense, and everything in-between this story hooked me. I can't wait for the next year to pass so I can read the next installation in this retelling. The characters have such passion and feelings that go between hope, despair, and betrayal. I don't want to say too much for fear of giving something away but this series is a well-written depiction of the tale of Robin Hood.
